The handsomest man in the ICU (again)

UPDATE 8:15am: The hospital is full so we’re still in the ER. Ruled out a UTI, and waiting on additional tests.

When the nursing home calls, I always take the call. There’s a tightening in my chest, wondering if it’s a “We’re just changing up Mike’s meds” call or a “You should probably meet him at the hospital, he’s already in the ambulance” call.

Tonight was a real one. The nursing home decided he should be taken by ambulance to the hospital, and then he was completely unaccounted for on behalf of the nursing home and hospital for three hours while everyone blamed each other for where he was and no one knew which ambulance company was called.

Nevertheless, here we are, trying to figure out why his temperature is 103.9 and if/where he has an infection. The nursing home has no record of temperature since a normal one two days ago. He is pretty sedated, waking up confused, and I’ve been reminding him that he’s just not feeling well and it’s ok to go back to sleep. Hoping for a room with a place I can sleep too. 😜

But for real… who is this handsome in a hospital bed? Only this guy.
