Update: Monday, December 19th 9am

Yesterday, Mike started opening and fluttering his eyes! He's still unresponsive, and the nurse assured me he's not "seeing" anything or focusing/tracking, but it was such a wonderful development - and to see his gorgeous hazel eyes again!

I asked him to flutter his eyes if he wanted me to put Cartoon Network on, and there was a closed eye flinch that I'm convinced was... something.

I left a green bin of coloring books, crosswords and activity books along with a fresh pack of crayons and colored pencils in his closet. If you visit and aren't sure what to do, as I often do, feel free to create a piece of art for Mike and tape it to the wall in his room.
